BRENHOUSE, Howard Lyon
Peacefully at home on Thursday, December 29, 2016. Mourned and deeply missed by his wife of forty-nine years, Fran. Loving father and father-in-law of Karen and Mark Dunn, Doug and Heather Brenhouse, and Michael Brenhouse. Dear Zaida of Josh and Tyson Dunn; Audrey and Sierra Brenhouse. Devoted son of the late Hensie and the late Moe Brenhouse. Survived by his caring siblings with whom he spoke daily, Clark, Sorel Park, Jack, Arnie and cousin Elliot; his sisters-in- law and brothers-in-law, Myrna, Len Cepler, Jeannie Kavanagh, and Phyllis and David Haltrecht. Uncle Howie will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. It gave him great joy to share in their lives. Howard will be sadly missed by his cousins, relatives and special friends. The family gratefully acknowledges the exceptional care of Dr. Adrian Langleben and the entire oncology staff at St. Mary's Hospital. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon St. W., on Sunday, January 1, at 11:00 a.m. Burial at Beth Ora Congregation Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O. Shiva at his home from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. daily. In lieu of flowers, donations in Howard's memory may be made to the "Fran and Howard Brenhouse Fund for Schizophrenia and Personality Studies", c/o the Jewish General Hospital Foundation, (514) 340-8251.

I only saw today, over three years after uncle Howie has passed away. My deepest sympathy for Fran, his beloved wife. If you knew Howard, you knew how much he loved and cherished his wife and kids. He was my favourite of all! Just dont tell Clark!!! Although I only saw uncle Howie during family affairs, he certainly stood out and was so amazingly friendly! Sincerely always Lynda xoxo

I miss the old days of driving up to Okaply and trying to drag Howard out to lunch............it was always the same, no time for lunch he would say. I was just thinking of him.

I was so distraught to hear of Howards passing last December. It bothers me greatly that I never got a chance to pay my respects. I liked and admired him very much. He possessed a marvelous sense of humour,always had a great comeback line, but most of all, a deep kindness. We did business for over 15 years. I will always have fond memories of him. He was a good man.
