To Howards Family,

I am very sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad/Grandfather. I adored Howard very much and remember all the good talks that we had! He was my Landlord for almost 8 years at the West Jefferson Street apartment, and he was so kind to me and my family! I will NEVER forget how compassionate he was when he heard about my Mom passing away in 2001 only 2 days after I gave birth to my 3rd child! I don't think he ever realized (or maybe he did) just how much I needed to hear that the Lord and my Mom would always watch out for me in my times of need!

I have missed him since we moved and will ALWAYS remember him as a good man! My kids adored him as well and were saddened to hear of his passing!

You all will be in my thoughts and prayers during this sad time for you all!

Dearest Pastor Rock and family,
We only saw your dad a few times while recent members of ACAC. You spoke so highly of him; it warmed our hearts. Because of God's grace and this man's changed heart, he affected you and you affected us. May God be with you as you grieve the loss and remember his life.

I will always fondly remember going to a visitation at the funeral home for a blind lady from our church. Your dad was there. He was asking us if we knew what was her favorite hymn. We would guess & even when it was wrong all of us there broke out into singing that hymn for her. It was the most memorable funeral visitation I ever experienced thanks to your dad.

THE DILLAMAN FAMILY,
AS A VERY YOUNG BOY,I MET YOUR DAD IN THE LATE FORTIES. HE AND YOUR MOM LIVED IN AN APARTMENT ON RIDGE AVE.BEHIND THE MERCER ST CMA CHURCH.HE WAS ALWAYS A VERY SPECIAL MAN. FOR THE NEXT 30+ YEARS I WOULD SEE HIM AROUND BUTLER. AFTER LEAVING BUTLER I ALWAYS THOUGHT OF HIM WHEN I SAW AN ELECTROLUX PRODUCT.
A MAN OF GOD WITH A VERY SPECIAL CALLING. I WILL ALWAYS HAVE FOND MEMORIES OF YOUR DAD AND MOM.

MAY WE EXPRESS OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO THE FAMILIES OF HOWARD. HE WALKED AROUND THE CLEARVIEW MALL WITH US FOR MANY YEARS & HE PRACTICED HIS LOVE FOR GOD WITH ALL OF US. HE WOULD GIVE OUR TABLE OF WALKERS A BLESSING EVERY MORNING AFTER WE WALKED WITH HIM. I WILL NEVER FORGET HOW HE PASSED OUT HIS SMALL BOOKS ABOUT THE LORD & HIS PRAYER WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED BY ME.
IT WENT LIKE THIS: ONLY ONE LIFE WILL SOON BE PASSED, BUT ONLY WHAT'S DONE FOR CHRIST WILL LAST! IT IS PRICELESS.
HOWARD WILL SADLY BE REMEMBERED BY ALL OF US, WHO HAD THE FORTUNE TO KNOW HIM. MAY GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU, DURING SUCH SAD TIMES. HE WAS TRULY A FINE GENTLEMAN, WITH A HEART OF GOLD.
