Janine
I am so sorry to hear of Howard's passing. To have loved a man so passionate about you, nature, and all that is good is a true blessing. May the wonderful memories you have shared give you comfort in the future.

This is what I know about Howard....he loved and treasured Janine and it was important that he create a home and nest for them (and the dogs!) where they could enjoy life in a "real" way. Being on the land, part of the land, using the land respectfully and watching it with curiousity and interest was important. When we would gather as a bunch of crazy artists to sit on the deck and watch the many birds swooping at the birdhouses he would keep a distance and be smiling. Janine would show us the latest thing Howard had done for her in her studio and we would marvel at his masks and sculptures. Janine, I am so sorry for your loss and touched by the fact that you knew love in an intimate, caring and trusting manner. Many hugs to you my friend.

Janine,
We just heard about Howard and are very sorry to hear of your loss. I will so miss seeing Howard out at Millarville with his bears which were an amazing piece of art. Sorry we did not get to know you both better as our neighbors. If you need anything please do not hesitate to give me a call. Kathy and Dean Latter

Janine,
I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. I fondly remember when Terry and I visited you both years ago. Terry thought so highly of Howard, as a colleague and a friend.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Jenine I am so sorry to hear of Howard's passing. I remember well his steady nature, his loyalty to friends and colleagues, his twinkling eyes as he made a dry yet witty comment to help make a situation better. You and family are in my thoughts and prayers for loving comfort in this difficult time.

Janine - Words seem inadequate to express the sadness felt about Howard. I wish there was something I could say to ease your pain. Howard was a wonderful, fun-loving man who made time at the shows so memorable. Know that his passing will not only leave a void in our lives, but in the hearts of all those who knew him. May the love of those around you help you through the days ahead. ~Thinking of you and your family during this difficult time.

Janine, John and I are so sad and heart broken to hear about Howard. He was the kindest, sweetest man and always fun to be around. We can still hear him saying "Hi Folks" with his big smile. The Millarville Market will never be the same with Howard gone. We know you will have a big hole in your heart, hold on tight to your memories and they will soon make you smile. Thinking of you - Jo-Ann and John.

Janine,
Morgan and I fondly remember visiting you and Howard . He always made a big impression on Morgan. She "rescued" a bear from the discard pile one Saturday, and still has it in the backyard on her childhood wooden chair.
Our thoughts are with you.

Dear Janine and Howard's family,
I am so sorry to hear about Howard's illness and passing. I enjoyed teaching with him at AVC and know that he was a favorite with his students for his extra special help and concern. I will especially miss running into him at community events. He was a very warm and genuine friend.

Dear Janine and members of the Mahon Family:
I am so sorry to hear of the sad news of Howard's passing. I am in Asia visiting my relatives, but please accept my deepest sympathy. Howard was a great teacher, and a great mentor to all the younger colleagues in the Academic Upgrading Department. I had learned much from him. He will be missed.
