LOUGHRAN, Hugh John Born July 7, 1931, County Down Ireland Died December 29, 2016, Victoria, BC After a lengthy illness, Hugh Loughran passed away peacefully at Oak Bay Lodge on December 29, 2016. Hugh is survived by his wife of 60 years, Josephine; son Thurles; daughters, Deirdre (Victor) and Elizabeth (Jim); grandson, Benjamin; and three brothers, Kevin, Frances and Desmond. A loving and caring husband, father and grandfather, Hugh will be deeply missed by his family and many friends who will fondly remember his warmth and charm. His spirit will remain always in our hearts. Hugh's family would like to offer their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Oak Bay Lodge for the care and comfort they provided to Hugh. They helped to make his final years comfortable, loving and dignified. A funeral service will be held at Holy Cross Parish, 4049 Gordon Head Road on January 4, 2017 at 11 am, followed by a reception at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of British Columbia.
