Hunter Richard Burnette passed away on February 6, 2006 at his home in Palm Beach Shores, FL, after a battle with cancer. He was diagnosed with hepatoblastoma on October 4, 2004.
He is survived by his mother, Jayne Hunter of Palm Beach Shores and father, John Leach Burnette of Raleigh. In addition to his parents, surviving relatives include: his maternal grandmother,Anne Hunter of Plymouth, England; aunts, Suzanne Hunter of Plymouth, England and Tracey Hunter of the Canary Islands; cousins, Amy Jayne and Romany Hunter of Plymouth, England; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Leach of Raleigh; grandfather and step-grandmother, R.G. and Robin Burnette of Raleigh; uncle, James Brenton Burnette of Wilmington; cousin, Coral Maxwell and her mother, Rebecca Maxwell of Wilmington; great-aunt, Martha Bagley of Garner; and great-grandmother, Ethel Wrenn Burnette of Garner; uncles, John Sabin Leach, Richard Leach and his wife, Rebecca, Jim Leach and his wife, Katirie, all of Washington, NC; cousins, Elizabeth Johnson and her husband, Parker of New York, NY, Nancy Leach of Ocracoke, NC.
He was predeceased by his uncle, Richard Garland Burnette, III of Raleigh.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, March 12, 2006 at Longview- The Poe House, Poe Drive, Raleigh, NC. The family will receive friends after the service.
Although Hunter was with usonly a short while, he touched many lives. His family would like to thank the many friends and relatives who offered their generous support and prayers during Hunter's illness.
