HYUN SOOK CHUNG

Hyun Sook Chung of Honolulu, HI passed away on September 3, 2009. She was born in Seoul, Korea and immigrated to the United States in 1953.
Mrs. Chung received undergraduate degrees from Ewha University and Skidmore College, a Masters degree from the State University of New York and studied at the University of Wisconsin (Madison). She was recognized for outstanding teaching at Cannon's Business College of Honolulu, where she taught both English and Japanese. But her most important job and passion in life was raising her children and caring for her husband. She tirelessly devoted her love and energy to providing a good home and many opportunities for her family.
She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Chin Sik Chung for 51 years and the devoted mother of Raymond Taeyong Chung, M.D., and his wife Diane Abraczinskas, M.D., of Chestnut Hill, MA, Daniel Chulyong Chung, M.D., of Cambridge, MA and Joyce Aeyong Chung and her husband René Lacerte of Portola Valley, CA. She was the loving grandmother of Nicole Catherine Shinae Chung, Camille Elizabeth Yonghee Chung, Alec Chung Lacerte and Bennett Shin Lacerte.
Memorial services will be held at 11am on Friday, September 11, 2009 at the Korean Christian Church, 1832 Liliha Street, Honolulu. A scholarship fund has been established in her and her husband's memory at the University of Hawaii.
