Ian Powell Flack

Hello, sweet boy. I was delighted to see this posting still up. I think about you every day, and could not love you more.

I never met Ian. I know him only through his mother, who I often heard speaking with him over the phone. When they spoke, her eyes sparkled her voice was pure affection. She laughed and told him stories and sometimes would sing to him in a sweet, almost angelic voice. When she spoke with Ian, they were the only 2 people in the world, everyone else melted away. So she never noticed my tears. Not tears of sadness; I cried because her love for her child was so moving that I was simply overcome by its spiritual beauty. The memories of those moments are among the most my fondest. They are among my very few, and certainly my best, memories of unconditional love. My heart goes out to Julie and her family.

I knew of Ian only from his Mother's letters and photos. You are very much loved and I will one day get to meet you in Heaven, hold you and tell you stories of your Mother and I in days past. I admire you greatly Richard. May your heart and Julie's be healed by the precious memories your son gave you.

Marisa and I are so very sorry to learn of Ian's passing. I know that this has been a difficult road, but you have wonderful and endearing memories of his sweet life that will remain within you. Ian is now free of his earthly restraints and residing in our Father's Kingdom where one day again we shall be reunited with our loved ones. God Bless your family... I worked with Ian while his regular homebound was out this past fall. He will be missed.

I'm sorry for your pain Richard but am consoled knowing Ian is in a better place. That boy is running, jumping, and hanging out with Jesus. I'm sure he misses his wonderful Dad but knows he will see him soon.
