Ida (Mooring) Haymon

Ida Haymon at the age of 88 was peacefully called home by God to eternal rest on September 5, 2025 at Methodist Hospital. Ida was born on October 4, 1936 in Stanton, Tennessee to the late L.H. Mooring and Gussie Mae White. To this union 9 children were born. Ida accepted Christ at an early age. She joined New Nazareth Baptist Church where she remained until she became ill. Ida retired in 2001 after 20 years from Edgewater Mental Health in Gary, Indiana. She graduated from Calumet High School and took some college courses. Preceded in death by 8 siblings, her son, Sidney Johnson and daughter, Anitra Johnson, grandson Che' Blackburn and granddaughter, Marina Tate. Ida leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Silvana (Henry) Blackburn of Gary, IN, Loretta Johnson of Garland, TX and Charada (Calvin) Gaskin of Indianapolis; sons, Johnnie Johnson of Indianapolis, IN, Timothy Johnson and Miguel Hunt of Gary, IN, Travis (Jill) Hunt of Vincennes, IN, Eric (Danielle) Hunt of Jacksonville, FL. She also leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
