Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 18, 2013.

McCABE Imelda 24 May 2013 We, the sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews of the late Imelda McCabe are deeply indebted to so many who helped and cared for Imelda during her illness and supported us following her death. Imelda was a loving, caring, fun-loving, courageous and inspirational person and she touched so many lives. Our lives will not be the same without her. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to you all. We want to pay special thanks to our extended family, especially our Uncle Victor and Aunt Elizabeth for their continued support to our family and all our aunts and cousins who have been a constant source of strength and support. We thank Oncologists Doctors Harte and Parke, and all the nursing staff of the Mandeville Unit, CAH and at St John's House, Newry. All the doctors and staff of Parkview Surgery, in particular Dr John Garland - thank you for your continued attendance and professional care of Imelda. Grateful thanks to Tara & Martin Grimes and all Imelda's former colleagues and friends of Centra, Quarry Lane. We cannot forget the support of Imelda's life-long friends, Anne, Betty and Eilish - thank you ladies. To all those who called at the home, sent Mass cards, sympathy cards, telephoned, sent messages, flowers or food and our very good Ardbeg neighbours for all your help in the home during the wake - thank you so much. A very special word of thanks to Florence Doran, MacMillan, an absolutely remarkable caring nurse for your untiring commitment and care. To the very dedicated and hard-working district nurses, who enabled Imelda to remain in her home during her illness - thanks for your medical and nursing care. Thanks to Martina Hamill and all her carers - Martina, you far exceeded your responsibility as a carer. To all the wonderful Marie Curie Cancer Care nurses who attended Imelda at night. To Clare Mcaughey-Morgan, your kindness will not be forgotten. To all the priests of Dungannon and Clonoe Parishes; a special word of thanks to Fr Ryan McAleer who provided support to Imelda and the family and celebrated a beautiful and touching funeral Mass. Our appreciation also to Tracy Brennan for the beautiful singing at the Requiem Mass. We are also extremely grateful to Mr P J Quinn for the very dignified, respectful and professional way in which he carried out the funeral arrangements. Imelda's Months Mind Mass will be in St Patrick's Church, Dungannon on Monday 24 June 2013 at 7.30 pm. "It's not the years in your life that count; it's the life in your years".
