September 2012 Canadian/East Coast Cruise
October 30, 2012
Inez better known as Peewee to most of us, was always upbeat, full of life and always planning for her next cruise.
What is it that we remember when we think of Peewee? I think everyone who knows her well would agree with me on this. Ladies when you called Inez on the phone, how would she reply?, she'd say “hey girl” and you knew you were in for a great conversation.
Peewee touched many lives and I am thankful that I was given the opportunity to have known her as a sister, aunt, friend, comadre and confidante. We grew up together and raised our kids together, this is the way it has always been.
I will celebrate her life everyday with every glass of wine I drink, every cruise or outing that I take, or every Xmas, Thanksgiving or Super Bowl I experience….because she made these days special for everyone.
I have many funny stories, and not so much stories, but funny things we experienced together. Many years ago the department store, advertised the closing of their stores. Peewee called on the phone and said “Hey Girl, their closing Grants, you wanna go?” So we made plans, got in the car and went to Grants to be the first ones in line. Needless to say we were th first ones there and we stood in front of the doors like any other shopper would do. Well by the time they opened the doors, we were pushed so far up against the doors that we couldn't stop laughing. Little by little I lost sight of Inez as she was being pushed towards some bushes on the right side. All of a sudden I heard a scream and her laughing so loud, everyone in the crowd started laughing also. The crowd had pushed so far over to the right that she fell into the bushes and was calling out for me to come help get up. But I wasn't sure if I should leave my place in up against the door as it was minutes before the door opened…all of sudden she was right next to me again. Someone lese had helped her up and were there next to each other again. Needless to say, we bought nothing, but the memory still stands.
I'm gonna miss you Peewee. I could always talk to you about anything and you always gave me the fair answer, whether I liked the response or not. My life would have not been the same without you. Rest in peace and I'll see you in due time.

One of our old school mates, Connie Raya (now Rodriguez) mentioned to me that Inez had passed. Although I haven't seen Inez and Chris in many, many years, I remember her smile and her laugh. I am so saddened to hear of her passing and my prayers go out to Chris, his children and all family and friends that will be missing her. You were a wonderful couple then and now and although some memories must be bitter sweet, they are wonderful memories.
God Bless all of you.
