Inga HESSEL Obituary
December 30, 1934 - July 8, 2014
Unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, July 8. Devoted daughter of Henry and Elli Matthiesen, loving sister to Horst. Loving mother to Ingo and Dieter. Devoted grandmother to Aaron B, Aaron M-G, Malcolm, Emma, Kunio and Maya, and great- grandmother to Earowen, Salem, Owen and Dexter. Memorial gathering to be held at the Routhier Community Centre, 172 Guigues Avenue (at Cumberland) between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16. In lieu of flowers, donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation are appreciated.

About five years ago I wrote a book called The Dutch Farm, I sent a submission to Inga Hessel. Inga told me that she enjoyed the book and that she would like to include it with her selections to submit to a publisher. Unfortunately at the time I was not in the position to continue to send the money to cover mailings and postage that she requested. When Inga had her accident and went to the hospital, I expressed my concern to her and wished her a speedy recovery. Inga wrote me to say that she requested some books to read and mine was one she had requested. Thank you Inga for inspiring me to never give up hope for the book.

I only me Inga last spring. What an interesting lady! Returning from a long summer in B.C., I have just learned of Inga's passing and I am greatly moved. I extend my great sympathy to Ingo and Dieter and to all your family members.
