IRA M. SALIGMAN

The leadership and staff of the National Museum of American Jewish History mourns the passing of its longtime devoted Trustee Ira M. Saligman who, along with his family, were among the Museum's earliest and most steadfast supporters. Predeceased by his father Robert, he was the loving son of Alice Saligman (Klaus Brinkman). Together with Arden, Ira was the devoted parent of Van, Lila, and Gill, and brother of Carolyn Saligman, Laury Saligman (John McGill), and Peter (Meg) Saligman. He was a passionate and articulate leader of NMAJH and our Jewish community, and championed a new initiative to collect and preserve family stories for generations to come. May his memory be for a blessing.

I'm so sorry to hear of Ira's passing. He and I worked together years ago at my office in Bala Cynwyd and many times while dining at Hymie's we had wonderful conversations about the things he loved including his family and love of flying.
My sincere condolences to his family. G-d bless him - may he rest in peace.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences. Ira's presence will be missed universally. Ira was a student at Emory in Atlanta when our paths crossed. He was very kind, intelligent, funny and generous.
May fond memories of your life experience together bring you and your family comfort.

I was shocked to hear the news, Arden. I have very fond memories of working with/for Ira in that little office at your house. He was a very kind soul. You and your family are in my thoughts at this difficult time.

I am just shocked and deeply saddened. Ira was active in the Jewish community and in his synagogue at Temple Brith Achim and was a wonderful Dad. My condolences to his kids, Arden and his parents and siblings. What a mensche and what a horrible loss for the Jewish community and all that knew him. May his name be remembered as a blessing amongst our people and all that knew him. I am so so, so sad. Eve Jacobs (music teacher Temple B'rith Achim)

Ira was a great neighbor, always willing to stop and chat, up beat, cordial and interested in a good discussion. We enjoyed watching the Saligman family grow up. We are sure all of you are very sad, but know that Ira touched the St. David's Avenue corner's families and all that remember him. We are praying for Arden, Van, Lila and Gill.

I am so sorry to hear this news. Ira and I spent a lot of time together during his Haverford School days. I will never forget racing his Go Karts around his circular driveway. Though we were not connected for many years I think of him often. God Bless
