Irene Crosswell

Crosswell Irene
(née Marvin) Aged 64,
sadly passed away peacefully on
29th April 2017 following a short illness.
When she had retired as CEO of
Blue Arrow Personnel Services,
a leading recruitment company, Irene undertook a number of consultancy roles including adviser to the board of
Manpower UK.
Irene became an active supporter of Macmillan, a charity close to her heart, after the death of her husband
Michael Crosswell in 2000.
In 2004 she helped raise £1.5m for an essential Cancer Day Treatment Centre in Milton Keynes, chairing the corporate appeal for this new building. In 2005 Irene was elected to
Macmillan's Council and worked tirelessly as an ambassador for the charity both locally and nationally.
When Irene was appointed to the main board of trustees of Macmillan in 2014, she commented:
'Having been involved with Macmillan for some time I have witnessed
first-hand the breadth and reach of the charity at both a local and national level. I relish the opportunity
to be part of the charity's evolution and contribute to its continuing success story of working to give everyone living with cancer consistent quality of treatment, care and support.'
In addition to Macmillan, Irene also supported several local charities including Willen Hospice.
Irene was born in Stamford, Rutland and lived in Buckinghamshire.
