Irene "Renee" R. Garrido

Irene "Renee" R. Garrido, age 91, went to be with the Lord on June 6, 2011. She was born on September 20, 1919 in London, England. She served in the British Air Force during WWII as an ambulance driver. After the war, she traveled around the world as International Vice President for the Underwood Co. Renee later volunteered at the Belleview Hospital in New York. In 1969 she fell in love with San Antonio and decided to stay in the Alamo City. She was the Director of her husband's medical office for many years. In the late 1970's she was the owner of the Antique Store, "Collector's Delight" in which she enjoyed. She was also a member of the San Antonio Garden Center for many years. Renee loved flowers, gardening and nature.

She is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Jose R. Garrido; step-son, Jose R. Garrido Jr. & his wife Naomi; sister-in-law, Rina Reyes; and numerous loving friends.

Visitation will be at 6p.m., Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7p.m. Funeral Service will be at 9:00 a.m., Monday, June 20, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Chapel. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum 5000.
