Irene GOWAN Obituary
(Gerald Gowan Plumbing)
Irene Barbara Gowan (Klaman) passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. Irene was born on July 4, 1952 and lived her entire life in Ottawa. Irene was a full time employee of the Federal Government before starting her family. Irene leaves behind Gerald, her beloved husband and business partner of 42 years and her adoring three sons Andrew, Gerry and Gregory. She is also survived by her loving parents Frank and Maria Klaman and her sister Helen (Gerry Mulligan). Irene will be forever missed. She put everyone ahead of herself right up to her dying days. The family will respect her wishes and not host any formal services. Friends are invited to join the family at a Memorial Mass at St. Patrick's Basilica, (Kent & Nepean) on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 9:30 AM. A time of refreshment and fellowship will follow in the Church Hall. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Caner Society. Arrangements entrusted to The Whelan Funeral Home, tel. 613.233-1488.

Dear Gerry and Family;
I have just learned of your loss and wanted to know that your friends at St. Timothy's Church - both the congregation and Christian Horizons - send their regards and deepest condolences to all of you at this very difficult time.
We will be praying for Irene and for you, trusting that Irene is now safely resting in the warm embrace of God's arms. May God bless you and be a source of strength for you in the days and months to come and may the deep pain you now feel soon be replaced by all of the good and wonderful memories you have of Irene.
