Irene Hoffmann, nee Pascutti, was born to Eternal Life on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Century Ridge in Chilton, Wisconsin at the age of 87.

She was born in Provincia Udine, Italy, on November 3, 1925. In 1929, she and her mother Maria, emigrated to the United States to join her father, Giovanni Pascutti, in Milwaukee, WI.

Irene graduated from Lincoln High School in Milwaukee and the State Teacher's College of Milwaukee, now known as UWM in 1948. Her first teaching job was in Chilton, WI. While there, she met Harold Hoffmann, and on April 28, 1951, they were married at St. Francis Catholic Church in Milwaukee, WI.

Irene is survived by her three children: Jean Hoffmann, Sara Hoffmann, John Hoffmann, and one grandson, Nicholas Hoffmann Holden, all of Charlesburg, WI. She is further survived by her brother, Elio Allan (Laurie) Pascutti of Stevens Point, WI and their three children, Allan (Terri), John (Nancy), and Michael (Suzie). Also surviving are her Uncle Olvino DeCandido of Montreal, Canada, special cousins, Luigia DeCandido of Cliffside Park, New Jersey, and Josephine Pascutti of Milwaukee, WI. Other surviving grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins reside in Italy, France, Canada, and the United States. Special neighbors include Melvin and Rosie Meier and Steve and Judy Woelfel. As Irene would say, "They mean the world to me." Other special friends include Bertilla Muellenbach of Charlesburg, WI, Jane Schaar of New Holstein, and Jean Schmitz of Honolulu, Hawaii.

She was predeceased by her husband, Harold, on March 7, 2003, her parents, Maria & Giovanni Pascutti, her brother, John Pascutti, and many dear relatives and friends.

Irene taught at Chilton Public Schools for fifteen years, St. Mary's Catholic School in Chilton for four years, and then as a substitute teacher in the New Holstein Public Schools for thirty years. She was an avid reader and a lover of books and learning.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 12:45 pm at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial will be in the St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in Charlesburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chilton Public Library or the Salvation Army.
