Irene Marie Lepley, 68, of Carlisle, PA, passed from this life to eternal life in the Lord's presence on July 14, 2025 at the Hershey Medical Center in Hummelstown after a year-long battle with a rare form of leukemia.

Born in Belleville on November 20, 1956, she was the daughter of the late John and Salina (Peachey) Renno. Irene received nursing training from the Danville Area School District and spent most of her life caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She lived in service to God and was most recently a member of the West Shore Evangelical Free church where she served in many ways including mowing the property and working in the kitchen. She was a jack of all trades and had a passion for learning new things. Though she was mostly well-known for her exceptional baking and cooking skills (namely bread and sticky buns), she loved singing alto, reading, basket weaving, woodworking, sewing, quilting, crocheting, tailoring, stenciling, beading, raising chickens, people-watching, riding her scooter, swimming, yard-saling, and thrifting. She delighted in gifting her creations and if you needed something, she was determined to learn how to make it for you. She took pleasure in getting to know people from all walks of life while catering, bicycling, and traveling. She would light up when she found people who speak Pennsylvania Dutch -"Kannst du Micka fange?"

Irene enjoyed so many things, but what she treasured the most was her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Joseph Renno. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, David Lepley; brothers, Daniel and sister-in-law Fay Renno, William and sister-in-law Sharon, and Timothy and sister-in-law Judy Renno; sister-in-law Darlene Renno; daughter, Malinda and son-in-law Michael DelPriore; sons, Aaron and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Lepley, Adam and daughter-in-law Bethany Lepley, and Jacob and daughter-in-law Chloe Lepley; grandchildren, Ethan DelPriore, Landon DelPriore, Lucy Lepley, Galen Lepley, Jesse Lepley, Camille Lepley, August Lepley, Abel Lepley, Travis Lepley, Benjamin Lepley, and Oliver Lepley. It is often said that she had four brothers and each of them had a sister. Irene is also survived by a number of cherished, life-long friends that she loved so deeply. To be loved by Irene, was to be seen.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Hershey Medical Center for the exceptional care they gave to Irene during her battle with leukemia.

The funeral service will be held at Carlisle Reformed Presbyterian Church at 14 Westminster Dr, Carlisle, PA 17013, on July 26 at 11:00 AM. There will be visitation at the Hoffman Funeral Home at 2020 W Trindle Rd, Carlisle PA 17013 on July 25 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and at the Carlisle Reformed Presbyterian Church on July 26 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Letort Cemetery, Carlisle.
