Irene Mildred Meyer

Meyer, Irene Mildred Troy, Michigan Age 82, died at her home in Troy, MI on Wednesday, October 8, 2008. She was born February 1, 1926 in Saginaw MI to the late William and Sophia Krause. Upon graduating from Saginaw High, she married Donald Jacob Meyer, who preceded her in death on February 11, 2007. Irene and Don started their family in Saginaw, moved to Detroit and then to Bloomfield Hills for the majority of their 60 year marriage. They settled in Troy for their final years. She expressed her creativity in numerous interests over the years be it embroidery, knitting or entertaining. She was also an avid bridge player. Most of all, she was a mother who loved her children and grandchildren very much and made many sacrifices through her life for their betterment. She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her. Surviving are her children Michael Meyer, Dean Meyer and wife Faun, Kurt Meyer and wife Sharon, Jeff Meyer and wife Jamye, Jill Meyer and husband Anthony Avey; her grandchildren Nicholas, Lewis, Alan, Anne and Aaron; as well as her twin sisters Jean Harrison and Jeanette Dodge; and her brother Bill Krause and wife Joanie. The memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 13, in the Chapel of Flowers at White Chapel Cemetery, located at the corner of Crooks Road and Long Lake Road in Troy.
