Iris Evelyn Alessi UPPER Iris Alessi went to her eternal home July 6, 2025. She was baptized Lutheran, as an infant in Yorktown, Texas. From birth on August 6, 1940, she lived on the family farm and had to take on duties at a young age after the untimely early passing of her father. She started elementary at a Yorktown two-room schoolhouse. She was a 1958 graduate of Hitchcock HS. Iris married Louis E Alessi Jr on June 7, 1958. She was a clerk for the Justice of the Peace at the Galveston County Courthouse.

Iris was very close with family, hosting family events with delicious homemade family recipes. She shared her favorite Bible verses to reassure others. She traveled the entire 48 states continental US with her husband Louis as she loved camping. She was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church, Texas City, where she served as church secretary, on altar guild, counted offering and with Lutheran Braille Workers. She volunteered with Peace Lutheran's Journey to Bethlehem with her grandchildren.
