Iris Pangborn Moore (born Pamela Roberts) was born on January 22, 1947, in Denver, CO, to her birth mother, Virginia Roberts. She was adopted by Harry & Mildred Pangborn and brought home to Delta, CO, on Valentine's Day 1947, a day her mother cherished for the rest of her life. Iris had a loving extended family, including grandparents Ralph & Sabra Goswick, brother Donnie, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She remained close with her cousin Byron Goswick, among other relatives.

Iris often reflected on how God had saved her from death multiple times. As a toddler, she survived a fall from a second-story window. At age five or six, she nearly drowned at the Delta Swimming Pool. At 17, she survived a serious car accident that could have been fatal. Her faith became central to her life, leading her to attend church camps, Bible studies, and Christian youth groups. She accepted Jesus as her Savior at a church camp after her junior year and co-founded a Bible Club at Delta High School, which continued for a decade.

She attended Mesa Junior College in Grand Junction, earning an Associate in Commerce, and later Intermountain Bible College (IBC), where she worked in the library and office, eventually becoming the secretary to the college president. She earned a Bachelor's in Sacred Literature and met Sherman Moore, who quickly took notice of her and began walking her to her car after her late-night shifts. Their love grew, and they married on April 24, 1970, at the Baptist Church in Delta before Sherman left for military service. They shared 55 years of love and adventure.

Over the years, Iris dedicated herself to raising their children, teaching Sunday School, and working in administrative roles for organizations such as the DOE Compound, School District 51, and Comfort Care Assisted Living. She particularly loved her time as the Sub Coordinator for District 51, where she supported substitute teachers and hosted an annual Thank You Picnic for them. She approached every job as a ministry opportunity, sharing her faith with those around her.

She is deeply missed by her husband, Sherman; sons, Steven & Robert; adopted son, Craig Bradshaw; cousin Byron Goswick; and extended family, including Robert's fiancée Wendy and her parents, Marvin & Linda Sikes, along with many dear friends and church family.

Even in retirement, Iris continued to serve others. She prayed for strangers, volunteered with the Good News Club at Clifton Elementary, and sent birthday and anniversary cards to church members, using the opportunity to pray for them. She and Sherman attended Appleton Christian Church, where they grew spiritually and remained active in their faith.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 9 AM at Appleton Christian Church, followed by a memorial service at 10 AM. A graveside service will take place at 2 PM at Delta City Cemetery in Delta, CO. Arrangements by Brown's Cremation & Funeral Service.

Iris would encourage all to seek Jesus. Romans 6:23.

Mama you are so very missed. Iris and Sherman adopted me as a daughter years ago. We would eat lunch together any Sunday that I went to church. Mama and I both love Purple, are both small and I felt like I was part of her in a lot of ways. I'm hating having to miss laying my mom to rest with dad and rest of the family and friends. I love you so much mama. See you soon

I don't remember a time in my life where I don't have a memory of Iris and Sherman together.
I know she was deeply loved and she will be greatly missed. Praying for all who loved her.
