Iris Zecchin

Iris Inez (Lotti) Zecchin, 97, of Marietta, GA, died on November 4, 2023. She had been a resident of Arbor Terrace of East Cobb Senior Living for seven years.

She was born in Clifton, NJ, on November 13, 1925, to Alessandro and Gentile Lotti. Iris lived in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, for 46 years, and also had a house in Ocean City, NJ, for 40 years. She moved to Marietta, GA, in the early 2000s to be closer to her two daughters. She was a member of the Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church in Hasbrouck Heights and the Catholic Church of St. Ann in Marietta.

She was a lifelong seamstress who studied her craft in New York City and enjoyed gardening. Iris was also a dedicated baker who was known for giving out batches of her Christmas cookies. She enjoyed coffee and Italian cuisine, especially favorites like tortellini, polenta, and holiday panettone. In later years, Iris enjoyed snacking on Hershey's kisses and chocolate chip cookies with ice cream.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Malachi Zecchin; her son, Kurt Zecchin; and her sister, Lydia (Lotti) Mattheiss.

She is survived by her two daughters, Lynne (Zecchin) Meisch and Diane (Zecchin) Kolbe; her six grandchildren, Rob Meisch, Amy Meisch, Jill (Zecchin) Thrasher, Emily (Zecchin) Orduña, Matthew Zecchin, and Megan (Kolbe) McCoy; and four great grandchildren, Jonah Orduña, Ava Orduña, Leander Zecchin, and Emma McCoy.
