Irma "Mimi" Flowers

September 16, 1965 - March 19, 2024

Mimi, a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, cherished sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving and large family on March 19, 2024. She illuminated the lives of those around her with her beauty, while her strength reflected the enduring force of love and resilience.

Raised in Big Spring, Texas, she lived throughout her adulthood in Houston and Oklahoma City. Mimi's greatest joy in life was her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by parents, Juan Manuel and Teresa Rosas and her beloved children. Her son, Allan Manuel, alongside his devoted wife Charle, brought immense joy into Mimi's life through their children Maylee, Madden, and Brooks. Her daughter Alannah Amor Vasquez, finding solace in her partner Raul, gifted Mimi with grandchildren Laylannah, Aaron, Aliyannah, and Milliannah, who were the light of her life.

Mimi was more than a mother; she was a beloved sister to Mely Jimenez, Toni Ibarra and her husband Gerardo, John Rosas and his wife Irma, Ruben Rosas, and Teresa Galindo with her husband Rick. Each sibling shared a unique bond with Mimi, forming the foundation of her strength and perseverance. Their unwavering support sustained her through her health trials of recent years. Her love extended to her many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. She not only gave them unique nicknames but provided unconditional love without judgement.

She loved cooking for others and effortlessly forged friendships wherever she went. Fearless and always willing to go on new adventures, Mimi's journeys often led her to a thrift store or antique store, where she would express her love through thoughtful gifts. Her generous spirit touched the lives of all who knew her, and her acts of kindness will continue to inspire others.

Amidst life's challenges, her joyous spirit shone bright, a celebration of her boundless happiness. She held fast to the values of faith, love, and hope, radiating warmth to all around her. Let us take comfort in the knowledge that she is at peace. In tribute to Mimi's remarkable life, may we all strive to live our lives with the same unwavering kindness, infectious humor, and profound love that she so beautifully exemplified.

Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved, forever guiding and inspiring them.

The children of Mimi Flowers will coordinate a celebration of her life with details to follow. In place of flowers, condolences can be expressed through donations to the American Diabetes Association in her honor. Thank you for your love and support during this time.

Our Dearest Mimi,

"It´s been months and counting, since you earned your wings and flew,
we´re still adjusting life without you.

You´re now an Angel up above,
smiling, laughing, and showering us with your love.

Life without you, is not easy to endure,
but we´ve come to terms, it was your turn for departure.

It was a blessing, for us siblings, to have had a sister we could share,
though you´re gone, just know we still think of you and deeply care.

We thank the Lord for you, and have no doubt of where you are,
"you´re up in heaven!"... the lightest, brightest, and shiniest star."

We love you and miss you so much...
Your sister Toni

When amor told me the news, I was heartbroken. Mimi married my Pa back when I was a preteen. She took us kids in like her own grandkids. She loved on us like no other. We were excited to see Pa and Mimi. She also made the best tortillas. We fell in love with Aunt Amor and Uncle Allan. My Pa even adopted my Uncle Allan. She also made the best tortillas and gave the best hugs. Her laugh was also contagious. She will ALWAYS have a place in my heart and she will ALWAYS be family. You will be so missed Mimi!

My heart broke when Amor told me the news. Mimi took us in as her own grandchildren when she married my Pa back when I was a preteen. I loved her hugs and her tortillas! Definitely a sweet soul. I love how my Pa adopted my Uncle Allan, Mimi's son, forever being a part of our family. I am honestly sad that I didn't keep in touch after all of these years. She will definitely be missed

Aunt Mimi was truly a wonderful and kind woman. She loved her family, children, and grandchildren immensely. Every time we would visit her she loved to show us pictures and tell us funny stories of her beautiful grandchildren and how much she loved them. I will always cherish the wonderful memories of Aunt Mimi. To loose such a sweet individual has been truly heartbreaking. To Amor, Allen, and family please accept my deepest condolences and know that we are all here for you. I know that there are no words that can ease your pain. Just know that you are not alone and that we are praying for you and all our family. Your mother will forever remain in our hearts and memories, and through those cherished memories her kind spirit will continue to live on through all of us. Sending an abundance of love and prayers that you find peace and comfort at this time.

WOW!! The saying is so true, tomorrow is never promised. Back to the 80´s when we were in HS, Irma n her family moved in across the street on Ivie Drive. Our block was filled with kids already, so adding a few more was more to join the fun. Irma, John n Ruben, mainly. Irma joined us in the Class of `84. Although I was much closed to her brother John, the loss of a sibling has got to be just as difficult. My prayers go out to all of Irma´s families. John n Ruben n family go on and carry on the legacy that Irma leaves behind. Although she is not with us. Continue to celebrate those things she loved. We pray for her to have Eternal Peace. God bless all of those reading this. Always Class of 1984.

I will forever have you in my heart, I can see you coming over to drink my mom's tea and just talk. Making plans to live closer to your kids and "g-babies" and including me in that journey. As we grew up always remembering each other's birthdays. I always cut your hair and we talked about growing out our grey. I will miss your delicate little hands, your precious love for life. How you always wanted to help others. I love you, and will wait for you to blow in the wind.

My beloved sister Irma "Mimi," was known for her creativity, her hardworking nature and her adaptability. She had a style that celebrated the success of others. Mimi was known for her caring, her kindness, and her strong belief of... " no judging."
She loved to go have breakfast at Denny´s, but her fave was coffee. We could go and on deep in our conversation while drinking cup after cup!!!
Witnessing evidence she was a truly woman of God. She would say "Hello (with a beautiful smile), to all she had the chance to do so. She would tell me, "You never know what that person is going through, with a simple "hello," it may make their day.
The sounds of her happy laughter were so powerful and unforgettable, (her piggy snorting, lol).
Mimi´s positive calm demeanor was and will continue to be my inspiration and admiration. Her presence will always be remembered and cherished.
Her way of looking at life, no matter her challenges...
"Don´t live in the past, we don´t live there anymore, don´t live in the future, we´re not there yet, live in the moment, one day at a time."
I love you my sister, I you so much, I will profoundly miss you, but I will never ever forget you.

Your sister,
Toni

As I think back on our many memories, it feels like we've lived through countless chapters of life together. Whether it was helping me out of a jam or just being there to listen, I always knew I could count on you.

Aunt Mimi, you were one of a kind, and life won't be the same without you. I will miss the countless laughs we had. Thank you for always being there for me.
