Amalia Cordova Obituary
Amalia L. Cordova, 78, of Santa Paula, California, joined our Heavenly Father on July 23, 2014. She was born on January 29,1936 in Mexico.
She moved to Santa Paula in 1970. She worked in agriculture for many years and devoted her last twenty five years of employment to Saticoy Lemon Association in Santa Paula. In her spare time she enjoyed telling jokes, dancing, and reading the bible. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. But most of all, she took great pleasure in making sure everyone who walked into her home was fed.
She is survived by her husband Ramon H. Cordova of Mexico; eleven children, Salud (Abelardo) Telles, Margarita (Fabian) Lara, Yolanda (Ricardo) Sandoval, Lillia (Leonel) Tovar, Jose Luis (Claudia) Cordova, Jesus Cordova, Dionicio Cordova, Rosario Cordova, Raymon Cordova, Jaime Cordova and Antonio (Maria Elena) Cordova; twenty two grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; her two sisters, Mariana (Gil) Cisneros and Melania Rios;and her four brothers, Serafin (Aurora) Leon, Joventino (Beatriz) Leon, Baldomero (Martina) Leon, and Antonio (Juana) Leon.
She was preceded in death by her father Jose Cruz Leon, her mother Placida Medrano, and her sister Cristina Muoz.
She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7:30pm, Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 427 North Oak Street in Santa Paula. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am, Monday, July 28, 2014 also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Charles Lueras, C.R.I.C. Officiating. Committal & Interment will follow at Santa Clara Cemetery in Oxnard. To the Cordova Family. My condolences to you all. I had the pleasure of knowing Mrs. Cordova through Rosario & also as a resident @ FCC. You are all so very blessed. What a Beautiful Family. My prayers are with all of you. God looked down at your beautiful Mother & said Amalia, its time to come home. He saw the beautiful work she had done & decided it was time for her to rest. My prayers are with all of you.
