Isabel Perez Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 11, 2013.
Isabel Y Perez passed away October 10, 2013. He was born in Poteet, TX on July 8, 1946 to Antonio and Policarpia Perez.
Isabel grew up in Poteet, TX where he began his working career as a "cotton picker" until the age of 17 when he moved to W. Dallas. He was a very hard working man, who worked as a concrete machine operator. In 1967, he started his family with the birth of his first daughter. He was smart and straight forward, spending 20+ years in concrete until he turned his hobby into his career. At the age of 16 Isabel started working on cars and dabbled with them throughout the years. He learned the skill from his uncle and at the end of his life made it his second career. When he wasn't working, he was bleeding gold and burnt red for his favorite team the 49'ers. Isabel was open-minded until it came to changing the channel on the radio. As funny as he was, you didn't touch those channels cause you didn't want to know what his well-built physique could do. He would listen to oldies, country and tejano music.Isabel was many things; well groomed, out-spoken and understanding but above all he was a family man. His children could do no wrong, especially his daughters, and his grandchildren were his favorite people to spoil. He was an original "Pachuco" who could live on tortillas and beans. He is survived by his wife Eufemia Perez; daughters Gloria Brown, Diana Perez, Adelita Sosa, Hope Elizabeth Ramirez; sons Vincent Perez, Fernando Perez, Juan Ramirez, Joel Isabel Perez; grandchildren Veronica, Monica, Joseph, Vincent Jr., Maia, Emma, Chris, Matthew, Juan, Alondra, Aubriana, Juanito, Joel; great-grandchildren Anabel, Sophia; siblings Antonio, Gilbert, Damiana, Guadalupe, Margarita and Paul.
Isabel will be missed dearly and remembered fondly whenever someone says "Tu dale shine" or "No te aguites"

Awe, Mr. Perez, what can I say? Such a great neighbor, who became my friend. He helped me with the yard, when I was alone & listened to my problems. Always had some wise words to say, not to mention inappropriate jokes to make me laugh. I sure will miss seeing him every week, catching up & just checking on each other. If I was crying about some boy issue or because of the stupid cancer, he'd say, "it will be okay." Well, now I cry because I miss you, my friend. But the last time I saw you alive, I whispered that I would see you again someday, so no need to cry. Enjoy Heaven, Mr. Perez. You worked hard & deserve peace. See ya around.
And to the family, you know where I am. Call on me any time for anything & I'll be there. Thanks for being so open & loving. Take care.

Remember my poem Grandpa,
We love you Grandpa,
You will be missed.
You go into heaven
with a sweet little kiss.
We know you are in a better place,
We will never forget your loving face.
We grandkids promise you that we will do our best
to follow in God's gracious steps.
Love you Grandpa,
You're in our hearts forever!!

To the Perez Family

I live on Lansford across Edgefield from your home. I never had a conversation with any of your family or your Dad but I knew it was a happy home. I would see Mr. Perez "piddling" in the yard as I walked my dog. I love the huge "agave" plant in the yard by the way. Enjoyed seeing your senior dog out on the porch enjoying the morning. I didn't see Mrs. Perez that often but when I did I could see she had a difficult time getting around but understand she is doing much better now ! Anyway you really don't ever have to speak with someone to LOVE a family like the Perez family. Our neighborhood has only been made better by great people like the Perez Family! My sincere condolences to all his family! Rest in Eternal Peace ..Mr. Perez ( my Elmwood neighbor).
