Isabelle Valentine Budy, age 94 of Maumelle, Arkansas died Tuesday, June 7th, 2011. She was born February 14th, 1917 in Denver, Colorado to the late Francis and Louise Schaer Person and is the widow of Donald Maurice Budy. Preceding her in death were her brothers, John, Louis, Francis and Henry. Isabelle played violin and viola in numerous organizations including The Golden Symphony, The Jefferson Symphony, The Mostly Strauss Orchestra and a string quartet. Isabelle attended Colorado University-Boulder as a freshman majoring in music at the age of 52, withdrawing after three and a half years of study to care for her husband, Don, full-time. She was a much-loved piano and string teacher and enjoyed painting in watercolors and oils. Isabelle always said that her kids were her greatest achievement and she, along with Don, proved it with their constant, unwavering love for their family. Survivors include her sons: Bruce Budy (Diana), Don Budy (Betty Anne), Todd Budy (Andrea); daughter Sandy Michel; granddaughters Alison Michel (Ben Farmer) and Stacey Dianne Daniels (Greg); grandsons Kyle Budy (Heather) and Brooke Budy; great grand-daughters, Lauren and Alyssa Daniels, Ashley and Brooke Elizabeth Budy; sisters Loulette Slizeski and Helen Boyd. Isabelle also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews and family friends including Linda Shadell, her personal angel. Graveside service will be held Monday, 11:00 a.m., July 11th, at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 Kenyan Ave., Denver, Colorado. Memorials may be made to your favorite charity or Arkansas Hospice, 14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, AR 72116.
