Isadore Moskwa Obituary

MOSKWA , Isadore April 22, 1918 - April 3, 2010 Isadore, beloved father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully from congestive heart failure at 91 years of age. All who knew and loved him fondly remember him as a kind, compassionate and spiritual soul who loved to be surrounded by his friends and family, playing crib, volunteering in the community and being an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Isadore was born in Alvena and grew up in Saskatchewan. A veteran of WWII, he then married Mary, his wife of sixty years. They settled in Saskatoon until he retired in 1983, moving to Calgary shortly after to be closer to their children. Isadore enjoyed life with enthusiasm and always put others first, especially his grandchildren whom he loved and spoiled. Left with many fond memories are his children Paul Moskwa, Bill (Jan) Moskwa, Joanne (David) Baxter, Val Moskwa (Rick Morcom), Kathryn (Wayne) Moskwa-Fish; grandchildren, Branden (Jennifer), Patrick (Matthew), Chelsea (Chris), Carissa, Zach, Luc, Marisa, Ciara, Geoff (Melissa), Gillian (Trent), Greg (Daria), Teagen and Shea; nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Mike (Emily) Moskwa of Saskatoon, Frank (Jean) Moskwa of Prince Albert, Kay Tokar of Edmonton and John (Elva) Moskwa of Sudbury and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his wife Mary, his son Robbie, brother Stan (Josie) Moskwa, sister Josie (Steve) Krawec and brother-in-law Mike Tokar. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Luke's Catholic Church (1566 Northmount Drive N.W.) on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at St. Luke's Catholic Church on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made in Isadore's name directly to a charity of the donor's choice. Paul, Bill, Joanne, Val, and Kathy. I am sorry to have missed Uncle Isadore's prayers and funeral as Anne & I were down south on holidays. He was always such a great person to chat with and I will miss him.
