J. Neal Matheson

As boys and young men, Neal and I spent many happy hours together in Edmundston and Baker Lake. Careers took us in very different directions but those memories have lasted throughout my life.
Thank you Roberta for keeping me up to date with all those Christmas cards. My sympathy to you and the girls.

Neal was my training supervisor at Procter and Gamble Product Development in Hamilton Ontario in 1971. I have fond memories of those days and also of Roberta and the girls. My wife and I stayed connected over the years through Christmas cards, letters and visits.

There are quite a few of us left in Unilever who worked with Neal in his time as our CTO. He was a great mentor for me and many others .. he really inspired us to be bold, and break the shackles on how we thought about new technology in consumer products. So sad to hear of his passing, I often still think of Neal and pose the question what would Neal do in this situation. It is a legacy I will continue as long as I lead science and technology !

Rest in peace, Neal! I had the pleasure of working with him at J&J as a strategic supplier. He was inspiring, professional with a unique warmth. My deepest condolences to the family and his close colleagues/friends.

Neal was one of the best CTOs I´ve ever worked with. He cut out the bull and got to the great stuff ! So sad to see this. He´ll be forever remembered for his leadership and technical knowledge.
