J. W. Bud Jakeman, Jr., age 72, of Munfordville, KY, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013, in Horse Cave, KY. He was retired from the U S Air Force, a member of VFW Post 2586 in Salt Lake City, Utah and a member of St Helen Catholic Church.
He was the son of the late J.W. Jakeman, Sr. and the late Virginia L. Abrew Jakeman.
He is survived by his loving wife: Janice Jakeman; one daughter: Theresa Moore and one son Jay Lynn Jakeman (Chanda) both of Elko. NV; one step-son: Robert R. Bailey (Lynne) of Radcliff, KY; five grandchildren: Amber Jakeman, Eli Robbins, Daniel Robbins, Travis H. Bailey, Matthew H. Bailey; one great grandchild: Ariah Jakeman; two sisters: Carol Kilcrease (Bryan), Karen Lindhardt (Mark); five brothers: Walter Jakeman (Carole), Darrell Jakeman (Joan), Lynn Jakeman, Shane Jakeman (Setti), Bill Jakeman all of Utah. He is also survived by a special family member, Kris Jakeman.
He was also preceded in death by a beloved grandson, Joshua Earl Jakeman and a sister Sharon Jakeman.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Sunday, February 3, 2013 and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, Monday, February 4, 2013 at Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville, KY. Funeral service will be at Brooks Funeral Home at 10:00 AM, Monday, February 4, 2013. Interment will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY. I'll always remember Bud and I fixing all of the worlds problems over a cup of coffee at SLCC. He was a wonderful friend who I am glad to have known. I'll miss his wit and wisdom. My condolences to his loved ones.
