Princess Ja’Nya A. Johnson, “Peanut”, 14 of Colonial Heights, VA, was called home Tuesday, June 14, 2022, suddenly at her residence.
She was born August 2, 2007 to Aasenika Johnson and DaRyan Granderson. She finished her 8th grade year at Virtual Academy, and was on her way to 9th grade.
Ja’Nya was a Warrior, a fighter, so strong and so brave. Ja’Nya loved to smile, laugh, watch Netflix, and movies with best friend/sister, Za’Ryah “Bug”.
Peanut and Bug was two peas in a pod, and they where always up to something. Bug taught Peanut how to communicate by blinking her eyes, one time for no, two times for yes and three times for I don’t know (that how they communicated.) If you’re feeling down, just go see Peanut. She always knew how to bring you back up with that smile.
Ja’Nya was preceded in death by grandmother, Sheila Johnson and Shelley Granderson “Nana”; grandfather, William T. Ragsdale, Sr.; aunts, Carolyn Jones and Kim Mason; four uncles, Al, Antonio, Devon and Jonathan Johnson. She survived by her sister, Za’Ryah Granderson; grandmother, Annie Ragsdale; grandfather, John Mason and Al Johnson, Sr.; great grandmother, Ethel Granderson; aunts, Taneisha Granderson, Tiara Granderson, J’Care Graves, Angie Ragsdale, Kisa Johnson and Carmeilita Johnson; uncles, Niko Johnson, Jason Mace (April), Adam Ragsdale and William T. Ragsdale, Jr.; her great aunt, Sheila Granderson; a host of aunts, uncle, cousins, other relatives, friends, her favorite babysitter, teachers, and doctors.

You never said I'm leaving,
You never said goodbye.
You were gone before I knew it,
And only God knew why.
A million times I needed you,
A million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place,
That no one could ever fill.
It broke my heart to lose you,
But you didnt go alone.
For part of me went with you,
The day God took you home.
To my amazing sister, I want you to know that I love you unconditionally and thank you for blessing this world with such an awesome spirit, angel, soul and person she will never be forgotten.
Love Your Sister!
