Jack Bone of McGregor,76, passed from this life, Saturday, November 21, 2009, with his devoted family by his side. Funeral services were 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with David Echols and Pat Richardson officiating. Interment followed in McGregor Cemetery. A visitation was held from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at Cole Funeral Home.

Mr. Bone was born September 6, 1933, in South Bosque, Texas, one of four children of the late Melvin and Ruby Virginia (Boling) Bone and attended school in McGregor. On November 4, 1950, he married the former Doris Lee Cummings in McGregor. Jack was in the insurance business for over forty years and owned Jack Bone Insurance Agency when he retired in 2007. He was a devoted Christian and a member of the Moody Church of Christ where he was an elder and taught in the Adult Sunday School Class. Throughout his life, he enjoyed traveling in his motor home and spending time with his family.

Also preceding him in death was a brother, Wayne Bone.

Survivors include his beloved wife of fifty-nine years, Doris Bone; a son, Terry Bone and wife Karol of Rockport; two daughters, Brenda Manthei and husband Gary of Hewitt, Lisa Bone of McGregor; a brother, James Bone and wife Ann of McGregor; a sister, Joan Summers and husband Bobby of Corpus Christi; two grandchildren, Hollie Johnson and husband Gerald of McGregor, Lance Dodge and wife Megan of McGregor; ten great grandchildren, Cara Boniface, Malorie Boniface, Ainslie, Bailey, Caleb Lindsey, Kortlyn Dodge, Sadler Bailey, Kaden Dodge, Garron Johnson, Libbie Johnson and Kwest Dodge all of McGregor and aunt, Linnie Dietzman of McGregor and several nieces and nephews.
Active casketbearers were Billy Argabright, Lance Dodge, Gerald Johnson, Gary Manthei, Andy Randazzo and Ryan Randazzo. Honorary casketbearer was Al Gilmore.

For those desiring, the family has suggested McGregor Ambulance Association in care of Mynette Taylor, 311 South Main Street, McGregor, Texas 76657 for memorial contributions.
