He was a Flight Instructor during World War II and a bomber pilot during the Korean War. Jack was a 40-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 427 and former member of the Coterie Club. He retired in 1986 from Arkla Industries as National Service Manager and Applications Engineer after 35 years. Jack enjoyed playing Bridge, Clabber, Tripoley, and had a passion for crossword puzzles.
Jack is survived by his wife of 41 years, Emily (Waters) Brinkley, of Evansville; daughters, Jill Brinkley, of Evansville, and Janet Mominee (John), of Platteville, Wis.; stepdaughters, Donna Ruckman-Nave (Claude), of Evansville, and Anita Layton (Bob), of Summit Point, W. Va.; stepson, Charles Ruckman (Linda), of Palm Bay, Fla.; grandchildren, Jamie Bradley (Pete), of Waukesha, Wis., Scott Mominee, of Charlottesville, Va., Jay Mominee, of Whitewater, Wis., Krista Beshear, of Chandler, Todd Beshear (Melissa), of Evansville, Ryan Meyer, of Melbourne, FL, and Than Meyer, of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Ernest Stair, with burial at Sunset Memorial Park. The Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military services at the cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family would like to express its deep appreciation to Deaconess Hospice for its loving care.
