FORT PIERCE, FL - Jack (Popeye) Doyle, 80, died on Feburary 26, 2013 at the Tresure Coast Hospice House in Fort Pierce, Florida.

He was born on May 7, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY. Jack lived in Dutchess County for many years before moving to Arizona. He then moved to Cape Cod, MA. Then settled in Fort Pierce in 2006.

Jack was a Detective for the NYPD at the 19th Precinct. He also owned a family run restaurant called "Jack Doyle's Terrace Restaurant" in Lagrangeville, NY for 14 years before moving to Arizona.

He enjoyed singing and performing at the restaurant and in musical plays in the Poughkeepsie area. Jack also played in shows at the Pineapple Playhouse Theater in Fort Pierce, FL.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge, American Legion and Knights of Columbus.

Jack is survived by his wife of 60 years. Catherie Doyle of Holmes, NY/ His six children; Jack & Jennifer Doyle of Sunset Beach, NC; Sue & Bobby Champlin of Lagrangeville, NY; Catherine Wisseman of Lagrangeville, NY; Dan & Lynn Doyle of Mesa, AZ; Patty Kennedy & partner Kenneth Kearins of Millbrook, NY; Lori & Scott Tompkins of Holmes, NY; and sister, Dorothy O'Reilly of Brooklyn, NY.

Jack also had 14 grandchildren: Bobby and Dana Champlin; Crystal, Tyler & Shannon Williams; Ryan, D.J. & Tara Doyle; Richie, John and Kayla Wisseman; Jamie & Meghan Kennedy; Cody & Casey Nelson; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Richie Wisseman.

The family will is planning a memorial service at a later date.

June 1975 I arrived in San Fran. from Australia.
Not knowing anyone.
I met Cathy Doyle at the YWCA.
3 months later she talked me into coming to New York.
I met her family.
37+ yrs. later I love you all so very much.
Kay and Jack gave me so much love and advice/support over the many years.

My path in life ventured to New York with Cathy. What a wonderful and fantastic family I was welcomed with open arms..Thank you all.
And sharing this sorrow with you all somehow..suffering together..makes life more understandable in a unique way.
Thank you Jack and Kay for being there for me..Especially the past few years.

When I arrived June 1975 in the USA from Australia via San Fran..I met Cathy. And she talked me into coming to New York. I had the privilege of meeting her entire family. I love you all dearly.
Thank you Jack and Kay through many years of giving me endless love and support.
