Iva Brock Obituary
Indianapolis - Iva L. Brock, 93, of Indianapolis, passed away November 19, 2018 at her home. Iva was born December 1, 1924 in Portland, Tennessee to the late O'Dell Jenkins and Vader (Sadler) Jenkins. On March 16, 1946 she was united in marriage to Linzie Thomas Brock, and he preceded her in death on November 6, 2017.
Iva was a homemaker and a faithful member of the Indianapolis Baptist Temple for many years. Iva served her Lord in many ways including being a Sunday school teacher and visiting the sick and shut ins. Iva continuously displayed her relationship with Christ through her sweet spirit and godliness. A loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother, Iva's memory will be cherished by her family and friends.
Iva is preceded in death by her son, Ronald Thomas Brock; a grandson, Steven Scott; and two brothers, Wilburn Jenkins and William Jenkins; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Bradley, Frances Young, Kathleen Bullington, Naden Keen, Rulene Flanagan, Selma Long; a niece, Mildred Lamberth; and a nephew Jesse Bradley.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherry J. (Robert) Craven of Greenwood; four grandchildren, Gina R. and Kevin M. Scott, Alexandria D. and Markus D. Craven; two sisters, Velma (Vernon) Dillard of Portland, Tennessee and Wilma Jones of Deerfield Beach, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Iva L. Brock from 10:00 a.m. until noon on Monday, November 26, 2018 in the Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis. Rev. Greg Dixon, Jr. will officiate the funeral service beginning at noon on Monday at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
