Jack Harper Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 21, 2025.
Jack Edward Harper

Jack Edward Harper, 96, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025, in Fresno, California, the city where he was born on September 12, 1928. His long and remarkable life was defined by dedication to his family, his work, and his heritage. Jack was proceeded in death by his loving wife Patricia Ann Harper. Jack began his career as an electrician in the early 1950s with McCory Electric. In 1958, he took a bold step and founded Harper Electric, a business that thrived under his leadership for three decades. Known for his strong work ethic and passion for the trade, Jack built a reputation for excellence throughout the Fresno community. After briefly retiring in the late 1980s and closing Harper Electric, Jack found that retirement didn't suit him. He returned to the workforce as a Senior Electrical Plans Examiner for the City of Fresno-a role he embraced with enthusiasm until the age of 94. Jack's professional accomplishments were matched by a deep devotion to his family. He shared many joyful years with his beloved wife, Patricia Ann Harper. Together they raised a loving family that brought Jack immense pride and happiness. He is survived by his children: Gary Harper and daughter-in-law Patty Harper; Gina Berglund and son-in-law Stephen Berglund; and John Harper and daughter-in-law Teri Harper. Jack was a cherished grandfather to Erick Berglund; Scott Berglund and granddaughter-in-law Dr. Rachel Jack-Berglund; Mark Berglund; Chelsea Harper; and Marena Harper. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Haden Berglund, Kain Berglund, Adam Berglund, and Audrey Berglund. Jack also leaves behind his treasured friend Corene Everheart. Beyond his professional life, Jack found joy in simple pleasures-boating and water skiing with family were among his favorite pastimes. He treasured creating special memories with friends and loved ones, often bringing people together around meals that celebrated his Armenian heritage. A proud Armenian-American, Jack delighted in sharing traditional dishes like shish kebab, pilaf, peda bread, kufta, and baklava-meals that nourished both body and soul. Known for his sharp sense of humor and unwavering passion for life, Jack brought laughter into every room he entered. His warmth left a lasting impression on all who knew him. May Jack Edward Harper's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire all whose lives he touched. A Memorial Gathering will be held on October 4, 2025, from 11:45 AM to 2:30 PM at Pardini's, 2257 Shaw Avenue, Salon A.
