Jack Edward Jordan, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 13, 2022.
The family will receive friends between 6 and 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. Funeral Services will be at held 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2022 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with Mickey Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.
Jack was the son of the late Jewel Jackson Jordan and Jewell Mabel Swaner Jordan born June 28, 1933, in Paint Creek, Texas. He was a graduate of Wichita Falls High School, Class of 1952. He was married to the love of his life, Joyce Davis Jordan, for 69 years.
Jack was literally a “jack-of-all trades” from playing guitar, mandolin and bass for the Big D Jamboree show in Dallas and for radio station KWFT in Wichita Falls to raising cattle, owning Thrifty Petroleum Food Stores and Jordan Construction. He sold his business when he answered God's call to become a preacher. Jack devoted his life to witnessing, preaching the Word of God and winning souls to Christ. In his lifetime he was the Pastor at Shasta Baptist Church, Western Hills Baptist Church and KMAY Baptist Church before retiring.
Along with his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Jordan; and sisters, Wynell Groves, Juanita Schutte and Mary Taylor.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; son, Jack E. Jordan, Jr. (Vickie) of Iowa Park; daughter, Judy Ayer of Big Spring; grandchildren, Jana Gilmore (Cecil) of Granbury, Jayne Asmus (Kris) of Wichita Falls, Jodi Jordan of Elgin, Oklahoma, Jordan Burrus (Blake) of Arlington and Matthew Aldaco of Big Spring; great-grandchildren, Cullen Gilmore, Cadence Morris (Mason), Connor Jordan, and Trenton Wynne; one great-great granddaughter, Kollyns Anne Morris; a brother, Wayne Jordan (Dorothy) of Wichita Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
“...Well done, thou good and faithful servant...” Matt. 25:21

In the time I got to know Jack (affectionately known as Poppy by our children), it was immediately apparent he was a man of God...I learned so much about scripture and our Lord from the way Jack shared the gospel.
He was very much loved and admired by our children, Jordan & Matthew. I will always remember him as one of the great men I got to meet. I owe my rededication to our Risen Lord to Jack's understanding and love of the gospel. RIP Mr. Jordan and peace be with our children, their mama Judy Ayer, his beloved bride Joyce and the Jordan family.

I WAS DEEPLY IMPRESSED WITH JACK JORDAN'S TALENT AS A GUITAR PLAYER THE FIRST TIME I SAW HIM AT AN OLD HIGH ASSEMBLY IN 1951. YEARS LATER I WAS MORE IMPRESSED WITH HIS FRIENDSHIP. JACK LEFT HIS MARK ON MY LIFE. HE WILL BE MISSED. MAY GOD GRANT JOYCE PEACE. SHALOM MY FRIEND.

I was so sorry to hear of Jack's passing. I met him when he was building houses, and we had Chasteen Glass & Mirror, and we took care of his mirrors and showers doors. I got to know Jack better when we took real estate classes together. After he retired, I had coffee with him and his afternoon coffee group a few times. He was a good man who touched many people. RIP, Jack. Hope that you run into my Jack, the glass man, up there in Heaven.
