Jack E. Koski

Jack E. Koski, 70, of Hoyt Lakes died Friday at his home. Jack was born on March 15, 1932 to Jacob & Martha (Maki) Koski in Ely. He grew up in Ely and graduated from Ely High School class of 1950. Jack was united in marriage to Margaret Scott on January 30, 1951 in Ely. Following marriage the couple made their home in Ely. He worked for the Pioneer Underground Mine in Ely and on the construction of the Erie Mining Co. in Hoyt Lakes. He also worked for Reserve Mining in Babbitt. They moved to Hoyt Lakes in 1972. Through out the last 50 years, Jack ran his own business as a contract carpenter in the area. One of his enjoyments was the family cabin near Ely. He was a member of the Aurora Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife Margaret; daughters Patti (Tom) Koschak of Ely, Marjorie Thompson of Hoyt Lakes, and Martha (Bill) Sturgis of Hoyt Lakes; sons Jack W. (Carol) Koski of Hoyt Lakes and Paul (Gina Hippolt) Koski of Hoyt Lakes; grandchildren Jacki, Christina, Aimee, Jennifer, Jack David, Katy and Scott; great-grandchildren Alex, Jordan, Alexia, and Mikayla; brother James (Helen) of Ely. VISITATION: 9 until the 10 a.m. Monday Memorial Service in the Range Funeral Home in Hoyt Lakes. Randall Zarn will officiate.
