Karen and Ray, so sorry to hear of your fathers passing!
What an icon of Omaha! Such a gentleman, and so humble in spite of his notoriety! I think of him often especially at this time of year as the voice of the CWS!
Think of both of you and memories of our times at UNO! Great memories! May God bless you and your entire family at this time! He will be greatly missed but fondly remembered!

Dear Karen and Jackie and families,
I am sorry for this difficult loss. He is at peace and no longer in any pain.
Jack was a delightful friend of our family. We looked forward to our times together. He was a true friend and gentleman with a wonderful sense of humour. Jack and Father made a special broadcast team at WOW. He will be greatly missed. Thank you for sharing him with so many fans over the years. Please know you are in our prayers and in our hearts.

I feel very proud to have known Jack Payne. Back in 1952,3,4,&5, I was honored to have been Jack's World Herald paper boy. I delivered his paper every day, and then collected every week, and I was so thrilled when he answer his door, and I would say, "collect", and he paid me 40 cents for the week. I was too nervous to visit with him about my hearing his football broadcasts, but he was one of my special customers on my paper route. I was very surprised at his age, but I would like to give my deep condolences to the family at the news of his passing, but I ask God to give the family peace of mind, and that God will grant Jack peace and comfort. Thanks for the memories! Chuck Andersen

I loved Jack dearly, I've missed his hugs every Sunday and talking football and baseball with him. I know he is thrilled to no end to be with Connie and his dear friend Elmer! Love and hugs to Karen and Jackie and the rest of your family.

I worked with Jack at WOW radio many many years ago. What a wonderful kind, funny, friendly man! Everyone who knew him loved him. He was the voice of the CWS and Husker football and no one is a close second. Condolences to all of his family. I know he will be greatly missed.
