Jack Harold Perry, 92, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky.
Born Sept. 1, 1920, in Elyria to the late Harold and Dorothy (nee Hill) Perry, Jack grew up in Wellington and graduated with the Wellington High School class of 1938. 
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 until 1945 aboard a minesweeper in the Pacific and earned the rank of chief petty officer.
After his time in the service, he owned and operated Perry Motor Sales with his family. 
Jack was a past post commander and lifetime member of the American Legion, a member of the Eagles, and an officer and member of the Lorain County Automobile Dealers Association. He also served his community as a volunteer firefighter. His hobbies included golf, football, and watching his grandchildren play sports. 
Survivors include his wife, Rita (nee Koller), whom he married in 1945; daughter, Susan (David) Coleman of Amherst; grandchildren Ryan Perry (Jill) Coleman and Erin Coleman (Troy) Gerber; great-grandchildren Kamille, Jack, Karis, Kaden, and Troy; siblings Jean Perry Ruess, Elaine Perry McGarry, and James (Nancy) Perry; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Perry Jr.
A private service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jack may be made to the Ohio Veterans Home, 3416 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, OH 44870; Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870; or the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 74924, Cleveland, OH 44194.
