Jack Harold Perry, 92, died December 30, 2012 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky. Born in Elyria on September 1, 1920 to the late Harold and Dorothy (nee Hill) Perry, Jack grew up in Wellington and graduated with the Wellington High School class of 1938. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1942 until 1945; Jack was on a mine sweeper in the Pacific and earned the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After his time in the service, he owned and operated Perry Motor Sales with his family. Jack was a past Post Commander and lifetime member of the American Legion, was a member of the Eagles and an officer and member of the Lorain County Automobile Dealers Association. He also served his community as a volunteer fireman. His hobbies included golf, football, and watching his grandchildren play sports. Survivors include his wife, Rita (nee Koller), whom he married in 1945; daughter, Susan (David) Coleman, of Amherst; grandchildren, Ryan Perry (Jill) Coleman and Erin Coleman (Troy) Gerber and great grandchildren, Kamille, Jack, Karis, Kaden and Troy. Jack is also survived by his siblings, Jean Perry Ruess, Elaine Perry McGarry and James (Nancy) Perry and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Perry, Jr. A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jack are suggested to the Ohio Veterans Home, 3416 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio 44870, Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870 or the Alzheimer's Association, P.O.
