JACK SINGLETON

Retired miner Mr Jack Singleton (69), of Clumber Avenue, Rainworth, was cremated at Mansfield after a service at the crematorium chapel.Born at Heanor in Derbyshire, and educated at the town's Mundy Street School, Mr Singleton had been a local resident for 43 years.A miner for 31 years, he worked first at Ormonde Colliery in Derbyshire, and then at Blidworth Colliery, from where he retired.His interests included football - supporting Nottingham Forest Football Club - family holidays and he was a keen fisherman, being head bailiff at L-Lake Fishery, Rainworth.Mr Singleton, who died at King's Mill Hospital, Sutton, leaves his wife, Mrs Kathleen Singleton, son Mark, daughters Lynne and Joanne and seven grandchildren.Mourners were Mrs K.
