Jack A. Tillack, almost 84, died November 8th, 2022 in Zephyrhills, FL surrounded by family.
Born in Tampa in 1938, he loved his childhood growing up on Knights Avenue. He attended Plant High School then joined the United States Navy. After returning home he began his career as a Tampa firefighter with Station No. 1.
After admiring her from across the street of his station, he married the lovely Judy Dunaway in 1964 and shortly afterwards they moved to Dade City to raise their family.
Jack had a 30 year career with Standard Oil/Chevron. He began as a sales representative and progressed to buying service stations in Brooksville, Wesley Chapel and Zephyrhills, employing family and many local friends.
Jack was well loved by his community, especially for his days as a Dade City Little League baseball coach for the White Sox.
Jack was know by many as “a man’s man”. From the First South Bank boardroom to the golf course, then the clubhouse card game, onto weekend college and Bucs games, he had a full and festive life, with many a cigar in all of those events.
Jack is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judy, who lovingly cared for him during this difficult last year of his failing health. They built their business and family together and made great local friends, celebrating with dinner parties, vacations, family weddings and time with their grandchildren.
Sons: Tim (Monica) of Dade City; grandchildren Jacob, Lindsey, Madison and Mariah;
Steve (Beth) of San Antonio; grandchildren Douglas, Cameron and Effie;
Jack Glasure, and granddaughter Nicolette.
Services are Friday, November 18th at 1:30 pm at Florida National Cemetery with a reception following in San Antonio,FL.
