DR. JACK
Age 76, on Friday, April 12, 2002, of Swissvale. Loving son of the late Carl & Goldie Ulrich; survived by a very special pet his turtle Susie Marie. Dr. Ulrich graduated in 1950 from University of Pgh. School of Medicine, interned at South Side Hospital from 1952 to 1953, served as Medical Doctor at Mercy Hospital, Duquesne Light & a successful private practice until 1984. Served his country as First Lieutenant in the Army in the Phillipines & the Hawaiian Islands. Dr. Ulrich was a member of AMA, American College of Physicians, FACP, American College of Occupational & Environmental Medicine, American Academy of Family Physicians; also member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, East Pgh. & American Legion Swissvale. Friends received Saturday 2-4 & 7-9 & Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the THOMAS L. NIED FUNERAL HOME, INC. 7441 Washington St., Swissvale. Service at Calvary Episcopal Church Monday 11 a.m. Memorial Contributions to Calvary Episcopal Church or South Avenue United Methodist Church.

I enjoyed talking with Jack at Coffee Hour and at the Second Wednesday luncheons at Calvary Episcopal Church.

I had the priviledge of working with Dr. Ulrich at Mercy Hospital for many years. He was a kind, compassionate physician, a true gentleman. He truely believed that our Lord was the Great Healer.

I have had the privilege and blessing of seeing and getting to know Jack in the hospital the last few years. Last Tuesday, he was struggling and very uncomfortable. I am glad he is no longer suffering is with the Lord.



May the Lord be with you his family in their grief.

I was the Administrator at Jane Holmes Residence while Dr. Jack & Susie resided there. He was an interesting and spirited gentleman and quaikly won the affection of staff and other residents. My sincere condolences to the family.
