Jackson Bailey Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 15 to Dec. 18, 2022.
Jackson Duncan Bailey (Jack), Elvis Presley fanatic and Star Trek enthusiast, passed away peacefully on December 12th, 2022 at the age of 66 at his home in Endicott, NY.

Jack is survived by his son, now heir to an extensive collection of George Harrison CD's, Jackson Dwight Bailey II; Brother, John Marsh; Sister, Charlotte Martinez (Charlie); Nephew, Rob Murray; Step Children, Joanne Feringa, Melissa Emilcar, Randy Clark, Sean Connelly; and Close Friend, Nancy Billet (Nan).

He is predeceased by wives Melodee Bailey, and Donna Bailey; Parents, Jackson Dwight Bailey and Alice McDonough; and his beloved Taffy - the truly unpleasant cat pictured above.

Born in Binghamton, NY, Jack grew up in the Chenango Bridge area before moving away as a teenager to Virginia to finish out his high school years - something he attributes to his love of politics and banjos playing softly in the woods. Moving back to Binghamton, he worked at the EJ Shoe Factory, then IBM for 25 years, and spent countless hours supporting the historic Endicott landmark, Wingz.

Jack loved beer, old westerns, Negan from The Walking Dead, literature celebrating the successes of President Richard M. Nixon, more beer, impersonating John Wayne, and any piece of music ever associated with John Lennon. Even more than that, Jack loved his friends & family. Nothing brought him greater joy than listening to his son Jackson complain, playing with his grandsons Daniel, Alexander and Colin, and sitting at his kitchen table with a cup of coffee and a few close friends to listen to music and tell stories to.

In lieu of flowers, Jack would want you to hug your loved ones and listen to your favorite Beatles songs.

A celebration of life will be held for Jack at the Old Union Hall at 1 Grace St, Binghamton NY on Thursday December 22nd from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

I met Jack at IBM, and we spent many good times together going 4-wheeling, going out partying, and just hanging out. Many good memories of him in his 1985 Ford pickup. While I've lost touch of him since I moved south in the late 1990's, I've still thought of him as a friend. RIP Jack, and I hope to get up with you, and share some stories with you in the future. Later Buddy.

Jack will be missed by myself as well as many. I couldn't ask for a better step father. He was always so upbeat. With a positive outlook on life. I've learned so much from him. I'm so grateful to have been able to spend time with him towards the end. He will always be in my heart.

Ah Jackson( and Andrew)

A fitting tribute to your father. I wish I had more of an opportunity to talk and here those stories. My time talking to him/ meeting him was grand. A wonderful man.
My love to you all.
By the way the banjo playing is WEST VIRGINIA not Virginia.
