Dear Ann and Scott,
Sending my thoughts and prayers to you, your families, and dearest Jacob. It was a pleasure to have gotten to know all of you and the special relationship you had with Jake. I remember him playing his guitar with his friends and the dean coming to visit him when he was first admitted and him having so much company often. I remember him telling me about his band when I was just getting to know him. Jake was always smiling whenever I walked in to chat on days I was not his nurse and I had just seen him a few months ago. His memory will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know him. You are the most resilient parents I know and along with Jacob have fought a brave battle. We are all thinking of you during this time and our thoughts are with you.

Our heart goes out to you both in this time of sorrow. The depth of your loss is unimaginable. In this time try to remember the good times. As an Otter I can speak for all of us in expressing our deep condolences.

Morning has broken...the battle is over, let there be peace! News has trickled down the East Coast. I think of you Ann and Scott, I pray for your healing after such a long and arduous journey in the battle for your son Jake's life! What an amazing family. As a parent, you have been an inspiration, I bow my head in deep respect. You were Jake's heroes all the way through his illness. And as Jake soars with the angels now, it is your turn to heal, to find yourselves and each other after such a battle fought on the field of cancer. I think of you and pray for you.
