Jacob Gregg Obituary
He was born on September 1, 1992, in Rutland, the son of Scott and Ann (Moszynski) Gregg.
Jake grew up in West Rutland and Rutland Town, graduating from Christ the King School and then Rutland High School in 2010. He was currently a student at Lyndon State College.
He could play most any musical instrument he picked up, but mostly the banjo, guitar and the kick drum. Jake was also a gifted songwriter and accomplished vocalist.
Jake was a member of the band Suncooked. They released two albums: "Straight From the Surface" and "Did You Mean Uncooked" and played throughout the Northeast at several major venues. He was very kindhearted and truly loved entertaining people to make them happy.
He enjoyed skateboarding and skiing.
Survivors include his parents of Rutland Town; 2 brothers Joshua Gregg of Bridgewater and Matthew Gregg of Pittsford; maternal grandparents Janina and Kazimierz Moszynski of Easthampton, MA; his girlfriend Kayla Hathaway of Rutland; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Frank and Virginia "Ginny" Gregg.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday at the Aldous Funeral Home, 44 North Main Street, Rutland, VT.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon Saturday at Christ the King Church, 66 South Main Street, Rutland, VT. A celebration of his life and reception will follow at the Rutland Country Club.

Dear Ann and Scott,
Sending my thoughts and prayers to you, your families, and dearest Jacob. It was a pleasure to have gotten to know all of you and the special relationship you had with Jake. I remember him playing his guitar with his friends and the dean coming to visit him when he was first admitted and him having so much company often. I remember him telling me about his band when I was just getting to know him. Jake was always smiling whenever I walked in to chat on days I was not his nurse and I had just seen him a few months ago. His memory will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know him. You are the most resilient parents I know and along with Jacob have fought a brave battle. We are all thinking of you during this time and our thoughts are with you.

Morning has broken...the battle is over, let there be peace! News has trickled down the East Coast. I think of you Ann and Scott, I pray for your healing after such a long and arduous journey in the battle for your son Jake's life! What an amazing family.
