FREETOWN -- Jacob Michael Leahey, 27, of Berkley, died Friday, August 18, 2006, unexpectedly due to an automobile accident. He was the Son of Michael J. and Claudia A. (Desrosiers) Leahey of Berkley.
He was born in New Bedford and lived most of his life in Berkley. He graduated from Bristol Plymouth High School in 1997 and obtained his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology in 2005. He worked for Beta Group in Lincoln, R.I. as a Civil Engineer; and he was also a partner in Auto Technics.
Jacob was an auto enthusiast and also gave 150% in all he ever did and he was driven by compassion for the things he loved.
Survivors include his parents; his Sister, Jessica Leahey of Berkley; his best friend, Nathan Guite; his Paternal Grandmother, Dorothy (Poulin) Leahey of New Bedford; his Maternal Grandmother, Alice (Cordeiro) Desrosiers of Fall River; and several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He was the Grandson of the late William D. Leahey, Sr. and George Desrosiers.
The family will be receiving Relatives and Friends on Tuesday from 10-Noontime at Rock Funeral Home with a celebration of his life at noon.
