Jakes picture is hanging in our Wisconsin cabin .
Jake and my son Wade along with my dad went out fishing for an afternoon fishing was great! We caught our limit of panfish. Wade and myself had enough but Jake and my dad (Jake called grandpa) were having such a good time we could not get them to leave until we finaly convinced the two of them that we were at our legal limit (later that nite we discovered we were actually over a couple) When we got back to the cabin Jake jumped right in cleaning fish like a pro (no complaints even tho we were crying the blues about the mosquitos) he just kept talking about how great it was to be out fishing and how good those fish were going to taste. We finished cleaning them cooked a batch up and still had enough for everyone to bring home.
It was a great wknd!! and one I will Never forget Jake was a great pleasure to have along It was a pleasure to have had that little time with him . His enthusiasm on that wkend made it one we will never forget!

Lisa and family...
I was so saddened and sorry to hear about Jake. His memory will be forever young, and precious! Jake will be waiting patiently to show you all around the streets of gold someday. A place where there's no more tears or pain. Imagine... a first hand introduction to the King of Kings himself! He lives because Jesus lives! We will keep you and your family in our prayers.

Jake was a very sweet guy and a very good friend to me. He brought laughter to everyone and put a smile on everyones face. Ill always remember all the great times Jake and I had and he will never be forgotten. Jake was a very strong willed guy and always made the best of everything even if times werent going the way he wanted and I admired him so much for that. My thoughs and prayers go out to the Mars family. Jake I love and miss you lots buddy and you'll be in my heart forever.RIP!

Jake was a really great guy and a really cool person to have as a cousin. He used to come over to my house all the time when he was "just in the neighborhood" to hang out. We used to talk alot and before we know it it was 9:30 10:00 at night. I remember being little and it was the fourth of july and we would all go up to the carnival. Jake is going to be dearly missed by many and i know that i am going to miss him alot. He has a special place in my heart and so does his family. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. Jake is in a happy place now. I know that he is looking down at us. Best wishes..Dewey, Lisa, Hoss, and Herman.

Dewey, Lisa and family. We were so saddened to hear about Jake. We had been hoping and praying right along with you all this whole time and really wishing he could still be here. We will never know your pain, but I have seen your strength and that is something that inspires me and really reminds me of what is important in life and how to handle struggles and life's challenges and disappointments. Please know that we are here for you if you need anything. We are still praying for you and for Jake. Jason Walter and Kari Krummel

* Jake was one of the strongest people that I think I will ever know. He made so many people aware of his illness and told us how we could help, in such a short time. He will be missed by many, but touched many more. Myself included and I'm family. I will miss him dearley. May god bless you Duane,Lisa,Hoss&Herman.

We are very sorry to hear about the loss of you Son. It is very painful, beyond words. A year and a half ago, we lost our son Steve when he was 15. He passed away from complcations from Leukemia. He went to Coon Rapids High. It still hurts.
My wife, daughter and I were at the Coon Rapids Wintergaurd competition at CRHS on Saturday. Blaine dedicated their competition to Jake. I just thought you would like to know that.
My wife and I meet with a Greif Group every Monday Night at 7:00pm at Mercy Hospital. We have found that it helps us a little to talk with other parents who have lost their children. It is very early in the process for you, but later, after the pain subsides a little, please think about joining us. You would be most welcome.
Please know there are many praying for your family. Remember to think only one minute ahead of now and that is as far as you need to think.
God bless,
Mike, Janine, Luara and Steve Nielsen
