RANTOUL - Jacqueline Lee Wood Nygaard, 74, of Rantoul passed away at 9:25 a.m. Friday (May 5, 2023) at home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 8, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells St., Paxton.
Jacqueline was born June 4, 1948, in Viroqua, Wis., the daughter of Benjamin "Jack" and Beverly Joyce Rich Wood. She married Gerald "Jerry" Randolph Nygaard on April 16, 1983, at American Lutheran Church, Rantoul. He preceded her in death Jan. 24, 2009.
She is survived by her children, Nikky (Travis) Flesner of Rantoul, Tippy (Bradley) Haskins of San Mateo, Fla., Mick Nygaard of Prosper, Texas, Sandy (Bill) Roos of Prosper, Kevin Huber of Indiana and Shannon (Steve) Kowalski of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; 13 grandchildren, Hayley (Case), Caya, Jack, Sean (Ashley), Lance (Tara), Ryan (Jasmine), Jordan, Jenna Rose (Laschlahn), Dakota, Holly, Kassie (Cody), Scot (Jessie) and Miles (Hannah); three great-grandchildren, Eloise Jacqueline, Erik and Emily; her brother Russ (Karen) Wood of Greenwood, Ind.; sister, Lori (Tom) McQuinn of Paxton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry; and two brothers, Denny Wood and Jeff Wood.
Jacqueline spent her childhood in Wisconsin and later moved to Indiana and Illinois. She graduated from Arlington High School, Indianapolis. Jacqueline worked for many years at Caradco, Rantoul, in data processing and as a computer programmer.
She enjoyed genealogy and reading. Most of all, Jacqueline loved being a great-grandmother and spending time with her family.
