I write as one of the extended family. JRN Rajan was son of my cousin Mrs Raj Kumari, who was the only child of my Phoopha ji Mr Raj Narain ISE. Their palatial residence lovingly built by Raj Narain saheb was known as Raj Bhawan situated at the crossing of Clyde and Jopling Roads. I started my career in UP Irrigation Department (only one from family after Mr Raj Narain himself) from Lucknow staying initially at Raj Bhawan. JRN Rajan was 4 years my senior in Roorkee University.
I pray Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed noble soul and courage to bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.

Mamaji was more Indian than any of us. Every year he would come to India and ask me the welfare of my children. I am a widow now and still look after his sister in Lucknow. He was a truly great soul. Love to mamiji

I grew up as a small boy in Mamaji's old ancestral house in Lucknow where he came every winter from Oct1999 to 2004. In the morning I would serve him tea and heat up the water on firewood for his bath. After the house got sold, he continued to come every year till 2016 and I went with him to his other house in Nainital. After that whenever I took the phone, he would ask my welfare. May his soul rest in peace.

Since 2000 mama was a regular visitor to India. He was my jogging partner in lucknow Lohia park after which we would buy jalebis from nèelkanth in gomtinagar. While returning he would take black coffee at the fun republic mall drive thru. In the evenings he would party at royal cafe and other places. So full of life. I remember stealing some dry fruits from his baggage. Love you mama.

Rajan Saab was a gifted, highly educated, sophisticated gentleman. He was a low keyed intellectual, always polite and considerate. He was a scientist and also enjoyed the arts and cultural events. The Rajan couple were loved and respected by their family and friends.
