Jake Raymond DeSalvo Jr. went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 6:50 AM at the age of 58 years old. Jake is preceded in death by his father. Jake DeSalvo Sr.; paternal grandparents, Jake and Theresa DeSalvo; and his maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Ethel Matherne. Survived by his loving son, Jake DeSalvo III (Lauren); beloved grandson, Blaze Michael DeSalvo; mother, Shirley Matherne DeSalvo; sister, Kelly Shelley (Scott); brother, Damian DeSalvo (Jamie); nephews, Kacy Shelley and Evan Shelley; and niece, Alexis DeSalvo. He was a 1977 graduate of Arch Bishop Shaw High School. Jake loved spending time with his grandson, Blaze, fishing, and enjoying his Corvette. The family would like to thank the staff of Ochsner Westbank Hospital and Canon Hospice for their excellent care and compassion. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Canon Hospice. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
